The Riverwood Athletic Association (RAA) hosted their second annual RAA Coaches Dinner & Awards Presentation on Friday, September 22, 2017. Held prior to the Varsity Football Game and catered by Low Country Barbeque, the event honored and recognized Raider coaches for their years of service to the school.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the 2017 Coach of the Year Award to Isaac Seals. Seals, the Girls Cross Country and Girls Track & Field Coach, received this recognition for his outstanding service and dedication in mentoring and developing the character of student athletes, and for contributions to the greater Riverwood community. Isaac Seals is a member of the Science Department faculty and began his coaching tenure at Riverwood in 1990. Although he has primarily coached Cross Country and Track, Coach Seals also enjoyed serving as an Varsity Football Assistant Coach between 1991-1995. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he was a three sport athlete at East High School in Cleveland. Coach Seals was captain of the Football team his senior year, captain of the Track team for both his junior and senior years, and played on the Basketball team. He continued his football career at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, while earning a Bachelor's of Science. While attending Ohio University, Seals was also a member of the Bondo Club (Martial Arts) and participated in AAU Track. He holds a Masters Degree in Education.
