Varsity Boys Basketball Falls Short vs. Duluth

Varsity Boys Basketball Falls Short vs. Duluth

On Saturday, December 15, the Varsity Boys Basketball team traveled to Lanier High School to play in the Gwinnett Daily Tournament. The Raiders faced Duluth, a Class AAAAAAA program, in the morning contest.

In spite of a significant size difference, the Raiders hung tough and were only trailing by three (17-14) at the end of the first quarter. Then, the Wildcats defense kicked in and held the Raiders to only eight points in the second period. The Raiders never recovered, although they continued to battle the much larger team. After trailing 29-22 at the half, the Raiders could not make up any ground, and the Wildcats won 57-49. Senior Davis Herndon and Junior Cody Kaplan led the Raiders' team scoring with nine points each.

Both the Boys and Girls Varsity Teams are playing in the Pope Hounds Holiday Classic Tournament during the winter break. The Boys take on South Forsyth at Pope High School on Thursday evening, December 27. The tournament continues on Friday, December 28 and Saturday, December 29.
