Boys and Girls Golf Teams Play Well at Presidents' Day Invitational

The Riverwood boys and girls Varsity golf teams kicked off their seasons on a cold, windy day with a mixed team at the Presidents' Day Invitational, hosted by Carrollton HS, at Oak Mountain Country Club.

Senior Phillip Clendenin finished in the top 10 with a team best score of 77. Jonah Hirsch and Casey Scheele followed with scores of 84 and 88. Casey also won the closest to the pin contest with a distance of 5 ft 6 in on the 150 yard 12th hole.

Kailey Watkins and Lydia Davis posted 110 and 115 on the girls side.

The team finished in the middle of the 12 team field against a mix of top teams in 5A, 6A, and 7A.

The boys continue their season this weekend at the 18 team Coal Mountain Invitational at Hampton Village Golf Club in Cumming.
