Raiders 3rd in Region 6-AAAAA; Qualify for State
The Boys Cross Country team punched their ticket to the State Meet by finishing third at the 2017 Region 6-AAAAA Championship. The Raiders traveled to Boundary Waters Park in Douglasville on Thursday afternoon, October 26 and earned the right to participate in the State Championship for the second consecutive year. Grady won the region with a 1-2-3 finish (25 points); Decatur came in second with 55 points; the Raiders had 73, and Lithia Springs finished fourth with 88 points. The 2017 State Championship is Friday, November 3, at Carrollton High School. The Class AAAAA Boys race at 9:45am.
 
Senior Andrew Ungashick was the first to cross the line for the Raiders in 7th place overall. Rounding out the team scoring were Sophomore Harry Mehre (12th), Junior Erick Ramirez (14th, Season Best Time), and Freshmen Cody Kaplan (18th) and Eli Hoppenfield (22nd). 
 
The JV Boys also finished 3rd in their team race with nine runners posting season best times.
