Lady Raiders Win Opening Game

Following a successful scrimmage game the previous week, the Varsity Girls Lacrosse team opened their 2016 season with another high scoring game. The Lady Raiders beat the visiting M.L. King Lions 13-2 on Thursday, February 18.

The Seniors led the way with attacker McKenzie Lewis scoring seven goals. Midfielder Caroline Sweetin contributed three goals and four draw controls, and rookie Grace Geyer had two goals in her first ever regular season lacrosse game. Freshman Daisy Leepson added the 13th goal with only seconds left in the game, and Junior midfielder Aubrey Pritchett came up with four draw controls and three interceptions. The defense, led by Senior Alyssa Edgar and Sophomore Savanna Brooks, kept the ball away from the Lady Lions and allowed only six shots on goal the entire game.

Next, the Lady Raiders host Dunwoody Thursday, February 25. Game time is 5:55pm at Hoskyn Stadium.
