Riverwood Wins Region 6-AAAAA Traditional Championship for 4th Straight Year

The Riverwood Wrestling team won the Region 6-AAAAA Traditional Championship for the fourth year in a row on February 2nd, 2020.

As in 2017 2018, and 2019, Riverwood captured the title at home, with the rival Decatur Bulldogs again finishing second. Riverwood had eight champions in the match, and 12 wrestlers qualified for the Sectional Tournament at Lamar County. Assistant Coach Mike McQuary remarked, "This was a great team effort, and we are peaking at the right time. Trey and Naaman wrestled through injuries to contribute to a big team win, and Kort and Oliver improved throughout the year and made it to the top of the podium. Winning both Region and Traditional Duals is something this team should be very proud of accomplishing."
