Lady Raiders XC Sets Season Best Records in Douglasville

The Girls Cross Country Team traveled to Douglasville to compete in the Alexander/ASICS Invitational on Saturday, October 7. Hosted by Alexander High School at the Foxhall Sporting Club, it was a fast course with more than ten Lady Raiders setting either personal best or season best times.

Freshman Elle Mezzio led the charge for the team with a 18:47 PR and coming in 11th overall. Mezzio is currently ranked 1st in Region 6-AAAAA, and 4th in the State. Junior Elizabeth Smith also ran a season best time (21:18), which ranks her 11th in the Region. Junior Celine Al-Noubani; Sophomores Sharon Lim, Caroline Shutley, and Katie Sprung; and Freshmen Kennedy Anderson, Rachel Cohn, Allison Leffler, and Tori Williams all posted season best times.

Head Coach Isaac Seals was pleased. "I feel like we are finally finding our stride, and getting into the shape we need to be in to compete with the top teams in the state. Murphy Barja, Madison Lauk, and Tess McQuary should all be back from injuries and competing next week at Angora. It will be the first time this year that we have our lineup healthy and on the course."
