Robert Edwards joined the Raider Coaching Staff in the spring of 2018.
Coach Edwards was most recently the Head Football Coach at Greene County High School. Under his leadership, Greene County made four playoff appearances in six years. Previously, Edwards served as Head Football Coach at Arlington Christian School. Additionally, he serves as the Leading Running Back Coach for Football University National, has served as the Offensive Coordinator for the Georgia East-West All-Star team, Running Back Coach for the Army All-American Bowl, and Running Back Coach for the Rising Seniors All-Star Game. In addition to his coaching duties, he has served as a Sports Commentator for the SEC Wrap Up Show on CBS.
Edwards played Running Back at the University of Georgia from 1993-1997 and was a 1st Round Draft Pick by the New England Patriots in 1998. Additionally, he played for the Miami Dolphins and in the Canadian Football League. He was selected for the NFL All-Rookie Team and won the NFL Award for Community Service in 1999. In 2000, Edwards was the NFL Come Back Player of the Year and, in 2001, was inducted to the Georgia-Florida Hall of Fame.
