Coach Beckman joined the ranks of the Raider Coaching Staff as a Varsity Boys Soccer Community Coach in 2007. Between 2009-2015, he also served the Raider Football program as special teams coordinator.

Under Beckman's leadership, the Varsity Boys Soccer team went to the state playoffs in 2009, 2010, 2011, and for four years in a row beginning in 2013 (2013-2016). The Raiders were Region runners-up in 2010, 2013, and 2015, and were Region 7-AAAAA champions in 2016. Also in 2016, the Raiders won the 2016 Class AAAAA State Championship.

A graduate of the University of Georgia, Beckman was a standout soccer player at Pope High School where the team earned a Top Ten national ranking.
