Coach Ward joined the Raider coaching staff in 2009 to serve as a Varsity Cheerleading Coach when her oldest daughter was a member of the team. While continuing to work with the cheerleaders, Coach Ward added the Lady Raider Tennis Team to her coaching responsibilities in 2013.

Coach Ward grew up in Sandy Springs and is a Riverwood graduate. She played tennis for the Raiders and went on to play for a year for the Clemson Tigers. Following her graduation from Clemson, she returned to Sandy Springs and has been teaching at Spalding Elementary School for over 25 years.

Coach Ward and her husband Mike have two daughters:  Allie (Riverwood Class of 2009/FSU Class of 2013) and Madison (Riverwood Class of 2014/UGA Class of 2018). Madison played softball and tennis for the Lady Raiders.

Coach Ward is thrilled to be back at Riverwood “on the other side.” She has enjoyed being a part of the Riverwood community and has loved seeing her former elementary school students now in high school. She appreciates being able to work with the athletes, and enjoys the enthusiasm of the Raider athletic program.
