The Boys Tennis hosted their second region match in two days on Thursday afternoon, February 27, and lost 4-1 to the Sequoyah Chiefs.
Match Notes:
The lone win of the day was from the doubles team of Senior Ryan Roels and Sophomore Kohl Roberts. They defeated Sequoyah's first doubles team 6-2, 6-2 with overpowering serves and brilliant net play.
Junior Jacob Marcus lost 0-6, 0-6 to a formidable opponent. A closer look revealed Jacob's strength in groundstrokes and serves; he hung in there well despite the lopsided score.
Junior Max Goldstein lost 6-7, 6-3, 7-10. A 10 point tiebreak decided the third set in which he showed incredible tenacity and athleticism in the loss to Sequoyah's #2 singles.
Freshman Gaurav Kunwar lost 1-6, 0-6. Kunwar continues to impress with his level demeanor and skilled play.
Sophomore Pascal Acree and Senior Nikunj Jinan lost in the #2 doubles spot in an eight game pro-set, 8-10. Their match featured blistering Acree groundstrokes and booming Jinan serves.
