The Boys Tennis team earned their first Region victory on Wednesday, March 6, 2014. A reshuffled lineup travelled to Marietta and found success against the Kell Longhorns, 4-1.
Match Notes:
#1 Singles--Ryan Roels filled the top spot for the first time this season and looked strong in a losing effort, 1-6, 2-6. His level demeanor and keen athleticism lead the entire team.
#2 Singles--Jacob Marcus showed his stripes yet again in a solid win. His technique continues to shine and his 7-5, 6-2 win made a statement.
#3 Singles--Freshman sensation Gaurav Kunwar dispatched his opponent with methodical tactics and razor sharp placement. His 6-4, 6-3 win was an emotional lift for the team.
#1 Doubles--Max Goldstein and Kohl Roberts reunited their collaboration from last season in an impressive 6-0, 6-1 win. Their match ended quickly and set the tone for the rest of the lineup.
#2 Doubles--Pascal Acree was joined by Zack Katz in the second doubles spot. They earned the winning point for Riverwood, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Benny Soran, Nikunj Jinan and Alex Koenig looked great in exhibition play. More importantly they supported their teammates with solidarity and voice.
