McDaniel concluded his four-year varsity career with a stellar 12th Place finish at the State Meet in Carrollton. Ranked 19th in AAAAA coming into the State Meet, McDaniel gave his all finishing the redesigned and tougher State Meet course in 17:20 and just missing All-State honors.
