Boys XC Ends Regular Season with 1st Place Finish

Boys Cross Country finished out the regular season on Wednesday, October 22 in strong fashion. Traveling to Loganville, the Raiders won the dual meet 23-35.

Owen McDaniel showed great patience while following Loganville's top runner through the first mile.  McDaniel waited until just before the two-mile marker to make his move, and he made it with conviction. He pulled away and crossed the finish line 25 seconds ahead in First Place (17:10).

With both teams having quality #1 runners and a pack to follow, the Raider team goal was to position the pack ahead of Loganville's #3 runner. Although the Red Devils started strong and looked as if they could hold off the Raider charge, Alec Nathan provided just the spark to execute the strategy. Nathan was the first Raider to make a move; he steadily gained on their #2 runner. One by one, the Raiders advanced through the Red Devil pack and finished with runners #2-6 ahead of their #3.

Leading the pack were Mark Shutley, Willie Herrigel, Alec Nathan, Bayne Jarvis (PR for 4th straight race), and Andrew Ungashick (PR).  Adil Rarbaje was the Raiders 7th runner finishing in front of their #5.

Congratulations also to Caleb Sharper (PR), Albert Xiong (season best), Jeffrey Edge (PR), and Max Derrick (PR)

Next up for the Raiders is the Region Meet at Boling Park in Canton on November 1st
