Boys XC Summer 2017 Runs & Conditioning

The Boys Cross Country Summer schedule inculdes 1. training runs and 2. the weight room for everyone interested in being part of the fall 2017 season.

1.  Summer Training Runs
Open to anyone interested in joining the Boys Cross Country team, summer training runs will take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays beginning June 6, 2017

The student-led runs begin promptly at 7am at the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, Cochran Shoals Parking Lot (directions below*).

Runners of all abilities welcome. Rising 9th graders especially encouraged to participate. Coaches and/or school personnel do NOT attend the voluntary river runs.

*Directions from Riverwood to the Cochran Shoals Parking Lot:
     Turn Left out of the school parking lot
     Turn Left at the light onto Heards Ferry
     Travel on Heards Ferry and continue around the curve after the road name changes to Northside Drive
     Travel to the first stop light (Shell gas station on corner)
     Turn Right at the light onto Interstate North Parkway
     Cross the river and take the first Right into the Recreation Area parking lot (parking fee required)

 

2.  Boys XC Weight Room*
In addition to the voluntary runs at the river, boys are encouraged to take advantage of the summer Strength and Conditioning program at school. Summer Strength and Conditioning begins the week of June 12, 2017 and runs through July 27, 2017 (no activities the week of July 4)


Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays
Rising 10th-12th grade boys, 9:15-10:30am
Rising 9th grade boys, 10:30am-11:45am

*The weight room is open to rising enrolled 9th-12th grade students with up-to-date forms on file in PrivIT.   Every student MUST have a current physical and up-to-date forms on file in PrivIT before participating:  Athletic Forms & PrivIT link
