The Boys Cross Country team finished third at the 2017 Angora Invitational. Hosted by Druid Hills High School at Druid Hills Middle School on Saturday, October 14, the Raiders tallied 85 points to finish just ahead of region rival Decatur.
Freshman Cody Kaplan ran a strong race on the hills and finished 13th overall. His 18:22 led the Raiders. Rounding out the scoring were Senior Andrew Ungashick (15th/18:26), Junior Erick Ramirez (18th/18:33), Sophomore Harry Mehre (19th/18:34), and Freshman Eli Hoppenfield (20th/18:48).
Showing off their depth, the JV team (pictured below) won the championship trophy besting state powerhouses Clarkston and McIntosh.
A proud Head Coach Zach McKeone commented, "We had two great stories today: one was Cody Kaplan's amazing performance, and the other was our team truly running as a team and showing the power of pack running. We are excited about our chances at the upcoming Region 6-AAAAA meet."
