Nikia Bynum-Isler joins the Raider coaching staff in the Summer of 2016 as the Head Volleyball Coach. She will be Chair of the Health & Physical Education Department and teach PE.
Coach Bynum-Isler comes to the Raider family from Pebblebrook High School where she was a Physical Education teacher and served as the Head Volleyball Coach for 16 years. In 2012, was named the Cobb County Schools Health and Physical Education Teacher of the Year. In her more than 17 years of coaching at the high school level, she has coached not only Volleyball and Golf, but also Basketball.
Coach Bynum-Isler was a former standout high school and Division I-AA collegiate athlete in both Volleyball and Softball. As a Volleyball player at Alabama State University, she received the Most Valuable Player as a Defensive Specialist award in 2000 and she remains #4 on the Alabama State all time career digs record list. In addition, she is #9 on the Alabama State all-time career service aces list. Bynum-Isler earned All-SWAC recognition as a shortstop for the Lady Hornets Softball Team.
Coach Bynum-Isler holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Health Education from Alabama State and earned a Master's Degree in Public Health from Argosy University. She is a certified Atlanta Area Volleyball Official. Coach Bynum-Isler is married with one daughter. She is actively involved with her daughter’s former and present club volleyball teams, Push1 and A5 South.
