The Region 7-AAAAA (South) announced their 2015 Boys Basketball All-Region Awards.
Congratulations to Head Coach Buck Jenkins for being named the 2015 Coach of the Year.
Additionally, Junior Kohl Roberts is the Player of the Year and Senior Jordan Renfro also made the All-Region team.
The Raiders finished first in Region 7-AAAAA with a 10-2 Region record (18-7 overall).
The Region Tournament begins for the Raiders on Wednesday, February 11. This year's tournament is at Creekview High School in Canton.
Head Coach Buck Jenkins stepped to the top Varsity Boys Basketball coaching spot at the beginning of the 2010-2011 season. Prior to that, he led the JV Boys Basketball teams for two seasons (2008-10). Jenkins joined the Raider faculty in the Interrelated Resources Department in 2008.
Jenkins graduated from Columbia University in New York with a BA in Political Science. He also played basketball for Columbia where he holds the record as the All Time Leading Scorer. Jenkins was All-Ivy League for three years, the 1993 Player of the Year, All-East Coast in 1993, Honorable Mention All-America in 1993, and is a member of the Columbia Athletics Hall of Fame.
After graduating from Columbia University, Coach Jenkins played professional basketball in Europe for three years. Coach Jenkins returned to Columbia University and served as an assistant men's basketball coach for two years. He was the Head Basketball Coach and Executive Director at Inner Strength, Inc. for seven years.
Coach Jenkins is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He and his wife have two children.
