Junior Raider Basketball Program

Junior Raider Basketball Program

Junior Raider Basketball adheres to Georgia High School Association (GHSA) policies and is a separate organization from the high school athletic program. Jr. Raider Basketball offers a competitive feeder program to increase the number of experienced middle school players and to raise the level of competitiveness of the high school program.

The Junior Raider Basketball teams compete in the CCJBC, a junior high school basketball program consisting of over 40 metro Atlanta High Schools. During both the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons, each of the three Junior Raider Basketball teams reached the Sweet Sixteen round of the rear-end CCJBC Tournament.

Tryouts for the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade teams begin in September and practice begins in October. The teams practice twice per week and play over 20 games per year. For more information, please visit jrraiderhoops.com.

The Riverwood Athletic Association (RAA) is committed to developing teams at all levels. These levels include Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshmen teams at the high school level, as well as supporting middle school Junior Raider teams.

The RAA works with each of its high school teams to develop strong relationships with Junior Raider programs. Establishing structure, support, and styles of play that are seamless from the Varsity level down to Junior (feeder) level will allow all teams to benefit from continuity and consistency on and off the field.
