Congratulations to Kohl Roberts (Class of 2016) for signing a full athletic scholarship with Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville. The Bobcats, members of the Peachbelt Conference, recruited Roberts as a power forward.
Roberts earned Varsity letters in Tennis and Basketball for the Raiders. He was a valued member of the Varsity Tennis team in 9th and 10th grades, playing mostly doubles.
Roberts made the JV Basketball team as a Freshman and played on the Varsity squad during his final three years of high school. Roberts was the Raider Basketball co-captain during his Junior and Senior years and earned the Raider MVP award both years. During his high school career, he established new school records for rebounds and blocks and, as a Senior, amassed 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. Roberts' impressive list of honors includes being named the Region 7-AAAAA Player of the Year both his Junior and Senior years, as well as being named the North Forsyth Raider Classic Tournament MVP and being selected to the Wellstar Lake City Classic All-Tournament Team. In addition, Roberts played for the AAU Georgia Heat beginning in 4th grade through 12th grade.
At the May 2016 Commencement ceremony, Roberts received the 2016 Faculty Cup, one of the top three honors granted by the school to graduating seniors. The Faculty Cup recipient is well-rounded, excelling in scholarship as well as extracurricular pursuits. The Faculty Cup goes to a young person whose positive behavior, extra effort, and "can do" attitude is emblematic of what is right with today's youth.
