The Varsity Boys Basketball team played in the 2016 Tanger Thanksgiving Tournament Monday, November 21 and Tuesday, November 22. Hosted by East Jackson Comprehensive High School in Commerce, the boys tournament featured four North Georgia teams: East Jackson, Marist, Riverwood, and South Forsyth. The Raiders were 1-1 in the tournament.

vs. South Forsyth Monday, November 21
The Raiders suffered their first defeat of the season on Monday losing to South Forsyth by a score of 71-63 in the opening round of the Tanger Thanksgiving Tournament. In a battle that saw the Raiders trailing by ten points at the end of the 1st quarter, the team fought hard through the second quarter to claim a 38-29 lead at half. In the third quarter, South Forsyth answered with a relentless inside attack to regain the lead. Even though the Raiders came within two points late in the fourth period, South Forsyth put the game away at the free throw line. Senior Elijah Jenkins hit several bombs on his way to scoring a team high 26 points. Junior Elijah Dudley came in off the bench to add 11 points.
vs. East Jackson Tuesday, November 22
In the consolation round, the Raiders improved to 3-1 on the year with a convincing 89-52 win over East Jackson. Unlike Monday's game, the Raiders jumped out to an early first quarter lead and never looked back. The game featured some impressive dunks by Senior Josh Brown and plenty of outside shooting by the perimeter players. 11 different players scored in the game, led by Junior Elijah Dudley's 18 points off the bench. Senior Elijah Jenkins added 17 points; Junior Rudy Fitzgibbons had 13, and Josh Brown finished with 12.

The Raiders return to the court on Saturday, November 26 to face Blessed Trinity in a non-region matchup. The home game tips off at 5pm.
