The Varsity Boys Basketball team hosted cross-town rivals North Atlanta Saturday afternoon, December 10. The Raiders improved to 10-1 on the season with an 80-55 non-region victory over the Warriors.
Although the Warriors held their own in the first half, they could not sustain it over the final two periods. The Raiders led by two points at the end of the first quarter and stretched it to a ten point lead over the next two periods. A 25-10 burst in the final quarter provided the final margin of victory before a supportive Saturday afternoon student section. The Raiders put on a shooting clinic and finished the game by shooting 72% from the field, including 69% from three-point range and 83% from the free throw line. Coach Jenkins was able to play all 11 players who dressed for the game.
Senior Elijah Jenkins again led all scorers with 23 points, shooting 8-13. Junior Elijah Dudley added 19 points and connected on all five of his three-point shots. Senior Josh Brown added 11 points and 7 rebounds. Senior Charnchai Chantha finished with eight big assists and six points.
The Raiders host Carver Tuesday, December 13 at 7pm before taking some time off for exams.
