Boys XC Ranked Top 10 in State Class AAAAA

Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country team for breaking into the Top Ten State ranking. The Week 4 Class AAAAA rankings have the Raiders at #9. The next event for the Raiders is Saturday, September 15 when they travel to Canton to run at the Warpath Invitational at Boling Park.

Saturday, September 8, 2018 Race Summary
The Boys Cross Country team ran a split squad on Saturday, September 8 with the Varsity heading out to Carrolton to preview the State course. Sophomore Eli Hoppenfeld finished 28th overall to pace the Raiders at the Carrollton Orthopaedic Race. Seniors Erick Ramirez and Sammy Miller, Sophomore Jacob Johnson, and Freshman Oliver McLendon recorded season-best times. The JV Boys ran the Coach Benson Double Dip at Marist.

In this week's AAAAA rankings, Regional 6-AAAAA rivals Grady (2) and Decatur (3) showed they are candidates for a State title, while the Raiders climbed into a 9th place ranking. Head Coach Zach McKeone was excited, "Our region is the toughest in the State by far; we won't have to look far to know how good we are. I love to compete, and my boys thrive on competition. This is going to be a lot of fun."
